In Loving Memory of Sonny

There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.  ~ Winston Churchill

Has there ever been a young girl that did not love horses? Just as people think of a "boy and his dog", they think of a "girl and her horse".  Sometimes they outgrow it, sometimes it is a phase.  Wouldn't parents rather have their daughters "horse-crazy" instead of "boy-crazy"? Some of us never outgrow the "horse-crazy" phase at all. Not every girl is lucky enough to actually have a horse of their own as I did you.  For those lucky few it is a dream come true. After months of searching I found the perfect companion and spent hours in the truck bringing you home from Texas .  There was such a comfort in the smell of you and a relaxation in watching you graze.  I could just breath the same air and be totally, wonderfully, completely happy.  Even though we didn't get to ride as much as I would have liked, you had the life of a horse who was loved and loved by many people.  You were always a gentle, constant companion and a trooper throughout your illness, until the end.

You will always and forever be our "Lil' Pony Boy", my "Lil' Ray of Sonnyshine"
