Humane Society of
Monroe County, Illinois
Maximus
Lab/Terrier
Mix
Size: Large
Age: Adult
Sex: Male
Maximus
is a 1-1/2
year
old
Lab/Terrier
mix
and is
a
lovable
big
guy
weighing
in at
around
60 to
65
pounds.
Maximus
has
adjusted
very
well
to his
foster
home,
getting
along
with
the
2
dogs
that
live
there.
He is
very
energetic
and
enjoys
running
in the
yard,
playing
with
toys
and
going
for
walks.
He is
housebroken,
walks
well
on a
leash
and
knows
some
basic
commands.
He
does
need
to be
crated
when
his
foster
family
leaves
because
he
still
has
that
puppy
urge
to
chew.
Max is
good
with
older
children
and
would
be
fine
with
younger
ones
with a
little
more
training.
Basic
obedience
is
being
taught
to him
at his
foster
home
and he
is
picking
up on
it
very
quickly.
His
ideal
forever
home
would
be one
with a
fenced
hard
and a
family
that
has
time
for
play
and
walks/runs.
UPDATE:
Maximus
has
been
with
us
since
mid-March
and he
has
adjusted
to our
active
household.
He
loves
the
fenced
backyard
and
will
stay
outside
relaxing
in the
grass
on
nice
days.
He has
become
quite
the
snuggler
sometimes
forgetting
that
he
weighs
65 lbs
and
tries
to set
on our
laps.
He
still
has
the
puppy
urge
to
chew
but
only
occasionally,
much
better
in
fact.
While
he is
kenneled
when
we
leave
the
house,
he
sleeps
in my
son’s
room
at
night
and
will
stay
there
until
we get
up in
the
morning.
He is
doing
well
with
the
kids
in the
neighborhood
and
has
become
a
favorite
of
many
of
them.
He is
really
is a
sweet
boy.
While
at the
adoption
the
other
week,
he sat
quietly
in the
kennel
which
is not
easy
to do.
Sometimes
adoption
events
can be
stressful
for a
guy.
For
more information on Maximus please call 618-282-7387.
Maximus
is up to date with routine shots,
micro-chipped and is altered.
