  OTHER BUSINESS:

·         It was asked if anyone in the general membership would be willing to volunteer to take the minutes at the next meeting.  Shelly Thornton volunteered to do so.

·         Bob Andress presented a $250 check from Wal-Mart Foundation.  He would also like to request getting an acrylic box to take donations for HSMC at his bird shows.

·         The board met with the landowner who is donating property for the new shelter prior to the general meeting.  They were granted permission to put a sign on the location.  We need to be on the lookout for any kind of building grants we may be eligible for.

  FUNDRAISER UPDATE:
  Toni Ruehle is hosting a Poker Run as a fundraiser for us on Saturday, June 5.  Toni presented the T-shirts that    she ordered.  They are available for purchase at CAH and their bar, Play’n by the Ruehles. The Poker Run will start the ‘Play’n By the Ruehles’ with registration starting at 10:30. The run itself will start at 11:30 with stops at ‘Top Shooters’, ‘Fountain Inn’. ‘Freida’s’ and conclude at  ‘Play’n By the Ruehles’. We will need volunteers at each of these stops.  The volunteer sheets were passed around for sign up. We will also need silent auction and raffle items. Raffle tickets were made available to take and sell.  There are two bands booked that will play for free. There will be either pork steaks or pulled pork.  All food proceeds will be given to HSMC.  A Poker Hand will probably cost $5.00 each or 3 for $10.00.
